MY PAIN'S AN EIGHT

You made the choice
Not to sleep with me tonight
Waiting for you
And what's supposed to be mine

All I find is the pain
When I could be in the rain
In the mountains with a real friend
Who knows my love's not pretend

The choices you make
Leave me lonely to ache
After you've had your way
Let your party girl play

Play is all you want to do
Because you choose to leave me blue
And today when you went away
I love you, I love you, is all I could pray

You're not God
Your love's too cruel
I'm punished, a downhearted fool
And by me you do not stand
With a ring on your left hand

As I have done in tears and smiles
Awaiting you to come the miles
To be with me and bring me peace
I want you here it doesn't cease

And since you'll not be coming through
I take off these rings I wear for you
'Cause all along it will be said
She died of a broken heart for wanting him in her bed.
