Early in the still of the morning while the dew is still upon the roses,
before the sun rises from it's slumber to give us it's cheerful light,
I get down upon my knees before I begin my long day,
lifting my eyes heavenward I pray to my Father above,
asking for the strength to do my Christian duty this day.
Late in the evening when the sun is low in the sky,
and the stars begin to dot the deep blue sky,
I fall to my knees and begin to pray,
thanking my Heavenly Father for His grace and for looking over me,
Before my eyes close for the night's slumber,
again I raise my eyes to God above,
giving Him praise for the blessings of my day,
and praying for His help to live for Him each and every day.
As my eyes close for the night,
I see a vision too wonderful to describe,
the gates of Heaven are opened before me,
the angels sing their praise for the Lamb of God,
St. Peter announces that another child of the King has come home,
and that child is me.
