The Voice of God

Hebrews 12:25-29

See that you give an ear to His voice,
And when you do in your heart rejoice;
For if your ears were shut unto Him,
The world would look a lot more grim.

The only voice you hear is from earth,
And of Satan with His deceptive mirth;
Ignoring the voice of God does not free,
You from the punishment meant to be.

If brushing off the voice from Heaven,
You also refuse what will be given;
But you must think of the risk you take,
Since His voice causes an earthquake.

Now He has made an oath by saying,
Of more than just buildings swaying;
Not just of earth but Heaven as well,
Prior to sending some of us into Hell.

Let it be clear with the voice of God,
That even though that we are flawed;
Having us respect Him is His desire,
For our Lord God is a consuming fire.
