Let there be calm in the land of Eire,
and may our ancestors rest in peace.
Be it the sleep of an infant undisturbed by the passing of time.
Like pebbles in a stream, all different shapes and colours,
let us go through life striving to smooth our rough edges.
May cool waters vanquish the heat of our passions and allow us the dignity of tolerating our differences.
Allow the winds of change to blow gently over the cities,
bogs and marshes.
Give us time to reflect on our fears without fearing our reflections.
Permit our children to witness that which is best in us,
and not have to bear witness against us.
Grant us the strength of belief to not feel threatened
by the beliefs of others.
This I ask the One Most Holy.
