 Ballad of an Outlaw

Better watch where the sun is setting, check the shadows as they fall.
Hear the wind as it whispers warning of the long arm of the law.
When the sun is high and the air is clear, you can see for miles and you know he's near.
But when darkness comes on a moonless night, you better sleep in the saddle all night.

Better watch for his star a shining, catch the glimmer of his gun.
Check the hillsides, trees and valleys, you're an outlaw on the run.
When the air is hot and your site won't clear, and your mouth goes dry and you smell the fear.
When your hand starts shaking and you want to fight, you better sleep in the saddle all night.

Better watch where the sun is setting and check the shadows as they fall.
Hear the wind as it whispers warning of the long arm of the law.
When the shadows fade and your all alone with the rain coming down and your far from home.
The camp fire's out and it won't re-lite you better sleep in the saddle all night.
