Silver Salt Memories

Ice faeries dancing in the lace laden breeze flashed like fire in the moon light.
Lifeless limbs reached from beings stumped by winters breath.
The only warmth was the glow in your eyes as I guided your steps in rhythmic dance, crystalline lashes freezing your image in my mind.
I remember the determination in your voice as you struggled to complete your first rotation, but,
Why can't I feel, the memories beckoning
me back to that moment when the clouds parted?
Shadows cast by that maternal orb were
an omen, warning of things to come.
Never more will the touch of your hand
caress my heart, nor the memory of you
fade
