 All in a Days Pay

Life on the street is incomplete
Try to get ahead, but you can't compete.
You try to disguise the hurt inside,
But with each step forward,
You fall farther behind.
Work all day and your muscles ache
Going in today was a big mistake.
Times on the clock, holes in your socks,
Your tie is on crooked and your car door's locked.
Make up lost time with the money you saved,
You can't take it with you when you lay in your grave.
Take off your shoes, feeling's renewed,
Your feet are screaming so you sing the blues.
Take off your shirt and you'll cool down too.
Grab a newspaper and read the news.
Turn on the music and feel the beat,
life is coming back into your feet.
Shower quick you've got friends to meet.
Life's not bad when your living on the streets.
