In My Own World
I hold it in my hand
This cold hard steel
For a moment I am gone
The pain isn't real
I am in my world
Where my heart isn't bruised
Where I cannot hurt
Where I will not be used
It is just me
Cutting away the pain
Somehow this knife
Can just take it all away
When no one will listen
This is where I go
To take away my pain
It's the only freedom I know
No it doesn't hurt
Somehow it gives me peace
When I am in my own world
No one can hurt me
I am no longer here
I am out of my head
I no longer care what's been done
Or what's been said
In my own world
It's just my knife and me
The cutting takes it all away
It keeps me at peace
