Climb the highest mountain, punch the face of god

Actuality

Here is your known:
A bleak basement
Soundproofed with sad sentiments.

It doesn't even have
Any pretty wallpaper.

The actuality leaks from my wrist.

Slowly, the nail polish
Chips away and I see what
Was always there, what
Had always been there.

My denial stops me from seeing it.
I'm fighting with the surreal idea
That I've always been okay,
When reality arises
Like an errant gray hair
That I don't know who the f--k I'm kidding.
