Christmas in Neverland‘Twas the night before Christmas when all through the cove Not a creature was sleeping-not even Pan's foes. The stockings were hung on the tree limbs with care- Peter knew Santa's elves would not miss them there. The lost boys were bundled all warm in their beds, While visions of Hook's booty swam in their heads. And Wendy in her bonnet, and Pan in his hat, Were out searching the sky for an elf, round and fat. When out on the sea, there arose such a clatter, Pan soared overhead to see what was the matter. Down to the pirate ship he flew like a flash- Tink followed behind in a mad fairy dash. Wendy and Tiger Lily cheered from dry land- The lost boys came too, with John and Michael in hand. The moon's reflection on the water below Provided a great view to this grand Christmas show. When what to their astonished eyes should appear But a wee little sleigh and eight happy reindeer. With a merry old driver so feisty and quick, They knew right away it was jolly Saint Nick. A pinch of pixie dust and down they all came- Peter calling to each one, by each reindeer's name. "Come Comet! Come Dasher! Come Dancer and Blitzen! Quick Cupid! Quick Donder! Now, Prancer and Vixen! To the end of the plank, in the water they go- Captain Hook and his men- with a Ho! Ho! Ho!" As ocean waves that before the hurricane grow- When they grabbed up these men, ‘twas a quite splashy show. Now up to the treetops, the reindeer they flew With a sleigh full of goodies; Tink and Peter, too. Santa laughed right jolly and went straight to work To fill each boy's stocking; then grinned with a smirk. And crooking a finger at Peter and Tink- Belly shaking with laughter, he gave each a wink. Then he jumped in his sleigh, giving Rudolph a nod, And away they all flew to more fairy tale sod. But we heard him exclaim as he drove through the night: "Peace on earth to all men, and to all a blest night." Copyright © 12/3/05 by Michelle Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
