 ramblings and things

smallstepsmadpotepotriemantheartfulcodgerscogspeaksvolumes
All in a day's work

It could have been embarrassing
But he didn't really care
It was such a simple thing
Wearing ladies under wear
He chose it all so carefully
Every single piece just right
Carefully colour matched
With sheer nylon tights
Adjusted oh so precisely
With precision straight seams
Showing legs that appeared
Like chocolate box dreams
But if a man's got to do it
He's got to do his best
No half measures he thought
Shoulders back stick out chest
Take one deep breath for courage
Then proudly out on to that stage
Just a reluctant drag queen
To make a living wage
And out on that stage
He didn't need to hide
His need to display
His feminine side
He soaked up the applause
Folded his costume up neat
Tomorrow was another day
Back to sweeping streets
He'd do it so precisely
Try not to rush
Not risk any blisters
From his sweeping brush
And he'd do his best
And he'd do it well
But broken nails
Could be just hell
