Letting Go! For Dan!I met this lovely fella this night! Oh what revelations there were! Because he has a brain tumour, And it gave him a scare! He won't let his feelings and fears; Be unfurled and all on show! He doesn't want to scare his family, So he won't let it all go! And in not letting them go, He's in a world of pain! Staying strong for them all, Will drive him insane! So I told him a story, A little bit here and there… Empathised and let him know; That I've been there and that I care! I walked the walk twice, Just like this fella Dan! Been there done that, Got through it as only I can! Now he has to do the same, Face the fear and let go! And then and only then will it get better! And only then will they will know! Know that he's human! After all he's just like me! Heart and feelings and fears! And a need to set them free! No good in pretending; Especially to me, no, not at all… That all is well within to me, Because he's going to take a fall! Talk it out, eke it out, And talk it through!
