My favorite time of day since childhood
Is bedtime
The body takes its well deserved repose
But the spirit soars beyond the physical world
To places only the imagination can enter
My mode of transport is flying,
Soaring
Unemcumbered, above the clouds
To bask in mid air
Feeling the penetrating heat of the sun.
Its no wonder, I accept willingly
The full eight hours recommended
When I fly, I am empowered
Without limits
Upon awakening, I step back
Into the heaviness of the third dimension
Sadly feeling encumbered by the physical world
But acutely aware that in a few short hours
I will again explore the heavens.
