The dream harvesters

They came sliding down to earth
In their little silver ships
Carrying those little helmets with
Their little silicone chips
And they offered a kind of Eldorado
With their little schemes
Just don one of those little helmets
And let's record your dreams
They just forgot to mention that
The little helmet on your head
Speeded up your thought processes
Could burn your brain out dead
Or that it was so addictive to live
So long in never never land
Never mentioned this to the recruits
Of their first dreaming band
That when all the dreams were dreamed
They left a scrambled brain
Because they came and took their
Little helmets back again
They tidied up their zombies
Made them nice and neat
And gently led them out
Into any nearby handy street
And they cleaned up the little helmets
Put new sheets on the beds
And waited for the new ones to come
And scramble up their heads
And all those dreams they'd dreamed
Were recorded on these chips
And shipped off to Merchandising
In those little silver ships
For there were customers a plenty
Out there in hyper space
To get high and wild on the dreams
Of a primitive primate race
They called them the Dream Harvesters
And their customers just couldn't wait
To test the latest products
Produced by the fevered state
Caused by the little silver helmets
And the little silicone chip
Which they brought in so craftily
In those little silver ships
