Climb the highest mountain, punch the face of god

Memory Lane

Memory lane,
What a bitter road
Where lays to rest
The recollections I struggled
Hourly/monthly/yearly
To forget.

Once I grasped the concept,
I took an unfamiliar walk
And am pelted by
The pellets of those which
I thought had disintegrated
In the crevices of my mind.

How unintelligible of I
To walk where the
“No Trespassing” signs
Made clear and abrasive warnings;
How witless of I
To get lost in a jungle
Filled with the underbrush
Of my dying memories,
Revitalized by my stumbling upon them.

How dare I give birth to
Such moronic sentiments.

How dare I remember,
How dare I fear.

How dare I breathe new life into dead reminiscences.
