Like Gold-dust!I know as we go through life and stuff, We meet people on the way, Some are passing through… And some are here to stay! They say that if we meet a true friend, We should really treasure them true, And hold onto them like gold-dust! For there's nothing a true friend wouldn't do! They support you when you are down, Give their ears when you are sad, Lend their shoulders for support, When you are feeling bad! And listen with their heart so true, Have all the time in the world and more, Know what's in the heart of you! And certainly know the score! And know when the clown that is smiling, Is sad and breaking up inside, With a nod and a wink, they let you know, They are there right at your side. They lift you up when you're falling, When you need a pillar they are your strength! And their ears are never closed to you! And they give you their time at length! I have a friend like that, oh yes! Who supports me and kicks my butt, And brings me up sharp, sorts my head, When I am sad and in a rut! Who knows me inside and out! And isn't afraid to speak her mind, If there is ever a worry she has, She asks and seeks the answer she'll find! She is my rock, I am hers, Between us is a friendship so true, I am there for her; she is there for me, As only true friends can do! And though it can take many years past, To find that friend so true; It's worth the wait, it really is; We have that and I hope you do too! Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
