I Will Remember You

It was so different without you this year
and I swear last night I heard you in my dreams
calling out to me, telling me you was okay
and maybe you did, maybe you didn't
but when I awoke somehow I felt slightly better
and everyone acted like nothing happened
exchanging presents and laughing about
but I will remember you, silently today I said a prayer....

It was so odd not to get a call from you
or not to receive a present from your hands
the dinner table didn't look quite right
without your casseroles out on display
I passed a family picture and stopped for a glimpse of you
even though you are in this heart
it's nice to just see you if only through a frame
and there is so much I want to tell you
but I think you already know
I must believe you read my thoughts as I stand here
missing you down below
and every Christmas I will remember you
silently I said a prayer
Merry Christmas mother, celebrate with Jesus.....
