A Rose is anything but a mere flower
She is the distant elegance of an unfolding story
She is a symbol of the pure beauty of Nature
One of God's creations of magnificence and glory
She welcomes in a brand new life
While sending another soul off to heaven
She expresses all of heartfelt emotion
Of grieving, friendship, passion, love and devotion
Under a security blanket of the purest of white snows
Her seeds of life lay dormant and still
Contained in garden beds, cultivated and nurtured
With the blessings of strength and will
The roots of her love proudly take hold
Into the ground of Winter's thaw,
Spring's nourishing rain drops awaken her budding heart
As the Summer's Sun captivates all
With thorns to protect the vibrancy of her core
Petals to shelter her from the storms of life
and buddings to show off all of her beauty
She is the touching images of purity and delight
She blossoms in varying shades of blacks and white
Of pinks, golds, reds and yellows
a colour for every emotion, a colour for all seasons
Her existance in the hearts of others, calms and mellows
She is delicately strong, tender and meek
Her aromas, heavenly~scent
Her touch heartfelt, soft and kind
Giving gifts to many, until she is spent
