Twilight Lifeform.
Deep shadows crease
The developing night.
The sun was splintered
And the remnants of light scurry
Into darkness
Naked trees stand in vogue
Their proud silhouettes
Express a somber tone.
With fingers grappling
A sky so navy blue,
Childhood memories
Evoke oceanic journeys
Only half real,
Slowly rolling
Fore and aft
I move with the agility
Of a spirit.
Bodies don't exist here
They're lost in imagination,
Crumbling out of sight,
Light into dust.
Only the eyes are left
-- Flying through air
Freed of defenses,
Without preoccupation,
Alive...
And history's chalk and slate --
To record the moment.
That fleeting span of time
Overlapping day into night
When the energetic bonds
That tie matter together
Disintegrate,
And the constituent parts
Find new homes
Behind the shadows and the silhouettes.
And the hidden secrets
Of the driftwood stories
That pierce the vanishing horizon
Are annointed by an evening star,
And tucked inside the twilight
