HAPPY BIRTHDAY NUMBER FIVE
The clock strikes three
I wish for me
For your birthday tune
He stays in bed passed noon
Then that his quietness
Leads you to feel the guilt
Big knot in your stomach
As many times I've felt
Wish all your tears come loose
Praying for God's mercy
Because the church where you roost
Says set your sinning free
Letting a man you know
That you made love to before
Is in that house with you
Where God's not there in store
He doesn't answer prayers
When they're the taking kind
His grace he only shares
By those who love him blind.
