Sliding through the ocean
Almost the period for sleep
Such a smooth pleasant journey
Travelling this deep
Looking at the waters flowing
Passing almost in a dream
Almost mechanically controlling
The members of my team

Of six assorted whales
Two other submersibles and me
I can hear the whales singing
They know I like it best
I hear it I think subconsciously
During my schedule of rest
The hatcheries have been inspected
At the breeding farms
All the barriers are in action
We've checked all the alarms
Pollution levels steady even falling
In the odd isolated place
A little consoling proof that
We are slowly winning the race
Cleansing the mother
Considering the needs
Of all of her children
All her types and breeds
My whales are signalling to me
They are singing me a lullaby
I never ever hear the end
No matter how I try
My systems are switching over
Into automatic mode of control
Time for restoring sleep
To rejuvenate my whole
