 GODS OF ARABIA

You may hear, see and feel
But you don't perceive
God created love,
Devil created hate,
Man created all those.
You become a snow-man,
A stranger in your home.
In the Arabian Desert are two gods,
God in heaven threatening us with hell,
And god on earth dragging us to hell.
The earth god releases his vicious dogs
to be our shadow
And forces us to kiss their boots.
They enslave our souls
And jail our minds.
They dwell in our homes,
Eating our bread
and drinking our wine,
Stealing our dreams,
And make our women their mistresses.
We must ask their permission
To make love with our wives
Or meet our beloved ones.
: They impose on us
the type of food we eat
The time we go to bed
And the books we read,
They hang pictures of the earth god
In the streets, gardens,
recreational areas,
Theaters, schools, our bedrooms,
Dining rooms, kitchens,
Even in the bathrooms,
Print it on book covers
Catalogues, leaflets
Cigarette packs.
I wonder, yell, protest
But to no avail.
