 Shortest Day

They call today the shortest day
But I can't really see
How because it's been
Just as long to me'
If they knocked an hour off
I could understand
Its like the longest day
Which on the other hand
Just isn't any longer
The hours aren't any more
Than the usual
Regulation twenty four
They say its cos the world's a globe
But I don't buy that
Because we'd all fall off
Or lose our hats
Yes the world is round
There's no doubt of that
But it aint a ball
Just hilly and flat
