I Caught Them
I caught the fairies last night
Sneaking into my house,
Who said they were
As quiet as a mouse?
They were quite noisy
As a matter of fact,
They wouldn't shut up
They yacked and yacked.
They got into my pots and pans
Were rattling them about,
I stumbled down the stairs
I began to shout.
"What's with all the rucus?
Why are you being so loud?"
"Just go back to bed, old bag
Our mama said, we's allowed."
"Well your mama,
Doesn't have to work in the morning,
I'm going to tell her to come fetch you
And I'll give her a warning."
"You go right on ahead
And rat on us, ya fat goof,"
That was the last straw
My temper had hit the roof.
I stomped out of the kitchen
Went to the pantry to get my broom,
I started swinging wildly
They all had left the room.
Maybe now,
I can get some rest,
Locked my door on the way up the stairs
"SERVES YOU RIGHT, YOU LITTLE FLYING PESTS!"
