My darling how time drags by so slow
When you are not with me – but I guess you know,
I miss you so very much,
I miss your every touch.
My love! To see you of a night
You are my love, my guiding light,
Your company I always enjoy,
With us both having happiness to employ.
We have a laugh, you tease me,
From this I cannot flee,
To always be with you my love
Is to be like a little coveted dove.
Your arm around me you will put,
On my fears and worries the door you will shut,
We often talk about this and that,
For many a long hour we have sat.
We have our ups and downs like others,
But this the world and time discovers,
That life is short and meant to be sweet
And from our arguing we retreat.
The seconds feel like minutes, the minutes like hours,
The time weighs heavy when we are part,
For I know in the morning when I wake
That another day has dawned, when your face
I shall not see and so my heart much ache.
To the top of success you may go,
With not a care or a woe,
But I have one wish that I hope you will fulfil,
That it will not change your views, so that I become nil.
My love runs deeper than a bottomless sea,
For I am sure that us – you and me,
Will be happily married in the sight of God,
The two of us being united as one, on through life we will plod.
My thoughts are always with you
As I hope yours are with me,
I hope your sorrows will always be few,
And when we are married I hope to make us three.
I`d like you to dry my every tear,
And drive away my every fear,
To lead me far from strife
And put me on the right path in life.
The wife I become is for you to judge,
For I don`t want to become your drudge,
For I want to always smile with you
And be as sweet as the morning dew.
If you are kind, gentle and understanding,
Time nor troubles will `er take away,
My eyes shining brightly and my dimples at play,
If we are eternally happy, my eyes will betray the thrill
And we can go on loving each other still.
Oh! my love I miss you so,
Deep in your heart this you must know,
Of a night I sit and idle away my time,
Hoping that it will be soon that our paths will again entwine.
This little poem is a token of my love,
It`s not Wordsworth or written by the Saints above,
But this to you I gladly give
And a happy life together I hope we live.
