In Their Eyes
Small they are yet wiser too
Than you would know and if you knew
all they hear at times that stays
Inside their heads, so many days
The fights that make them run and hide
The tears they shed most kept inside
Why cant they stop is what they'll say
If just this once, if just today
Young at heart but not of mind
Where hurt will stay and words unkind
Cutting deeply, leaving their wounds
When will it end, they hope real soon
If they could wish them away
the pain they bear would go not stay
scared, covering their ears they pray
God please help, please change their ways
Mirrored is hurt upon their eyes
Expressing, wishing, wanting to die
Sparing themselves of life so bad
the wars between mommy and dad
