I've Felt It

I know what it's like;
To confess love to one
And only get ridicule and put-downs in return
-For one can only mask the scars for so long
Until they can no longer take the hurt

-I've traveled to the jaws,
Of love's seemingly angelic form
And as they clenched down upon me,
I was left with my heart shredded and torn

-I've been in the fires,
And come out burned and torched;
The flames ripping at my soul,
And my hope for love being scorched

-I've fallen for her again
Been trapped in the spinning abyss
My love for her has killed me many times over
Trust me- I've felt it
