A Day Shopping
We take a look
And stop and stare,
At hats and bags
And underwear!
We touch and stroke
And wonder why,
The prices are
So awfully high!
We try things on,
And turn and swish,
And long for youth,
We sadly wish!
We have a rest,
And sip our tea,
All relaxed
And so carefree!
We wander in
Among the racks,
Of shirts and pants
And shoes in stacks!
We order lunch,
And munch away,
And check we have
Enough to pay!
We walk some more,
And view antiques,
And chat about,
The news last week!
We feel our legs
Begin to ache,
So stop for coffee,
With some cake!
We drag ourselves
To the car,
Feeling glad.
That home's not far!
Joy Weare.
