Climb the highest mountain, punch the face of god

An Ode To Stained Glass

Within the womb of this place,
Beneath the smattered pieces of stained glass
And in between the soundless whispers,
We sit and have a lunch based on
Trepidation and constant worry.

I've watched the pieces of stained glass
As they fall and they sing quite a song
When they hit the ground so delicately.
You were beside me all along, in time,
And I never knew your name but breathed you
Prayers and wishes. I never knew that
You were listening the whole time.

I never knew you could hear my educated murmur.

I never could sit still that long.
I purposely walked over the pieces of
Colored glass, to see how sharp it was;
To see if I could be penetrated and
It turns out I can.

It isn't this glass I am so yearning to break,
But the blank, yet ornate ones that stare back
At me from the eyes of the church.

One rock equals a broken window.
Can you imagine ten rocks?
Ten windows, lest my aim is to fail me…

All so that something pretty could cut me up something ugly.
