Have you ever heard that old cliche'
better to have loved than to have lost
Can you live with such a broken heart
does it really add up to the cost
I've never been so broken hearted
been so rejected and out of touch
How could I know my world would end
by saying I love you very much
I don't want to be a memory
that will just be lost somewhere in time
I don't want to be a long lost love
in a poets old forgotten rhyme
So just take your old cliche' and go
forget you ever even new my name
Better to have loved than to have lost
