The Holiday Is Over!
I jump out of bed
Early today,
Grab all my stuff
And get on my way!
I turn up the music,
While driving along,
Trying to sing
A sweet soppy song!
The road is so busy
With buses and vans
And cars and drivers,
All driving to plan!
I stop and relax
When the lights are on red,
And stretch out my arms
And wiggle my head!
I turn round the corner,
And drive through the gate,
And look at my watch
To check if I'm late!
I go get a coffee
And walk to my room,
And put out the books,
Then the bell goes so soon!
All of the children
Walk through the door,
Then ever so quietly
All sit on the floor!
They say 'Good morning'
And 'How do you do'
Paying special attention
To those who are new!
The holiday's over,
It flew by so fast,
The first day of school
Has started at last!
Joy Weare.
