Starting Over
What you said
and what you meant
didn't ever seem to meet
So negative in how you see
but who could change the way you think
and I am glad I realized I deserved better
I am so happy I found the courage to leave your misery
so I am starting over
I have locked in my pride
and I hold the only key
so I am starting over
on a brand new leaf
got no resentment now
and no beef
I am starting over
and so ready to begin
I am never again going to be in your shadow
chasing away your demons
cuz I wash my hands of ever you changing
it's not giving up
it's saving myself
because I refuse for you to drain me
until I have nothing left
and now with greener grass under my feet
I stroll to a different beat
cuz....
I am starting over
