conceal the warring emotions

Warm and cheerful façade
maintains an armor to sustain
the animosity building within.
Country music playing from a distance
echoes loudly in mute misery
like no other way brightness
welcomes another day.
The shreds of agony
softly gnawing inside me,
wishing happiness comes my way.
Dawn is fast approaching,
cloaked in soft clouds, painstaking
fear engulfed my heart with anger
rambling for a path to wander
