Holy Poety! It's Richard John McCallum!Now I went to my mate Jeannie's café! After an awful day of hell! And there I was, a-wondering… All about my NTL! I'd just moved home, and oh dear me, I wasn't sure what to do? Cos NTL had me up the wall – And me - well I didn't have a clue! So there I am having a coffee, And pondering on this and that… Chatting about my NTL… Cos that was the topic of chat! I said to my mate I didn't know what to do, And she berated poor NTL… It seems she was having a problem, And she seemed to give them hell! But me, well I sat nice and quiet, As a poet does of course! And there sat Richard with a smile, Quietly eating his first course! But anyway, where was I? Oh yep, my NTL and the Irish lad, Who said he'd chat to me about it, And I thought, awww, he aint that bad! So off I popped home, as one does, And along came Richard McCallum, I asked if he missed good old Ireland, He said no, not really, just his mum! (Well, it rhymed)! So we chatted of this and that, NTL wasn't the whole topic you see! He gave me a name of another poet, And said he'd try to introduce me! Now I thought that was pretty wonderful! I've always wanted to see Ireland you see! And if I could do that, and meet this poet! Well that would be brilliant for me! In the meanwhile he sorted out my NTL, And I'm getting the telly quite soon, And it's just as well, it really is, Cos I'm sick of staring at the moon! Cos the pictures are no good on the telly, I can't see what I'm supposed to see! So I look to the darkened sky at night, And wish upon the moon, a wish for me! So that I can get NTL to sort my telly out! So no more looking at the moon for me! Cos I have to say, night after night, It's as boring as can be! But I have to be quite honest here! I'm rare home to watch the TV! Cos I'm always gallivanting about at night! Cos I'm a busy little bee!!! So I told Richard I'd write him a poem, And send it for him to have a laugh! And hopefully he'll have a giggle, Cos of this poem, written for him, by Cath! But Richard!!! Hang on!! Don't forget!! When I get to see the Emerald Isle… You'll have to get that poet to meet me! Cos I'll tell you, it'll make me smile! So now when I have a glitch with NTL… I think I will get it sorted all the while? Cos I think Richard me mate; may help me out, And that will bring a smile! Now Richard watches corry… And he loves his football too! But his room-mate doesn't like any! So guess what Richard has to do? He has to watch corry late at night, When his mate aint around the home! Well I think that's sad, so Richard lad… Chuck him out, and live alone!!! Now I'm looking for a pub quiz! Cos I used to go every week, Richard said he used to too! I said I need to find one cos its solace I seek! So anyway, Richard, I'm looking! But meanwhile, if you find one please… Tell me where the hell it is! Cos I'm on me bloody knees… (Praying)! '…Our Father up in Heaven, Please send a pub quiz to me! Cos I'm having an awful problem! There isn't one you see!!!' So there ya go Richard - as promised! A poem written especially for you!
