Heart Of The Matter

The Tree Stands Tall

Image hosting by Photobucket

The tree stands tall,
Against a winter sky,
Constant,
Growing stronger,
Year by year,
I come to visit,
Every now and then,
Pay homage,
To its stark,
Unyielding frame,

In summertime,
Its leaves,
A canopy,
Young lovers,
Rest against,
Its solid base,
The rustling leaves,
A whisper,
On the breeze.
And carried gently,
To the summer skies,

The tree stands tall,
It stands upon a hill,
In winter now bereft,
Of company,
I stand and gaze,
Upon this wondrous thing,
Imperfect,
Bold and brazen,
Beautifully.
