Heart Of The Matter
In Perfect Slumber
Eyes weary,
Craving sleep,
But thoughts,
Hang heavy,
On my mind,
I watch,
The dancing shadow,
Of a tree,
On the wall,
Dancing,
With the wind,
As it whistles,
A melancholy tune,
In quick time,
Yet time passes,
Slowly,
Out of synch,
With the rhythm,
Of the dance,
And the,
Writhing branches,
Though hypnotic,
Fail to still,
The active mind,
Not until the tree,
Exhausts,
Winter's ardent wind,
Will my thoughts,
Rest,
In perfect slumber.
Craving sleep,
But thoughts,
Hang heavy,
On my mind,
I watch,
The dancing shadow,
Of a tree,
On the wall,
Dancing,
With the wind,
As it whistles,
A melancholy tune,
In quick time,
Yet time passes,
Slowly,
Out of synch,
With the rhythm,
Of the dance,
And the,
Writhing branches,
Though hypnotic,
Fail to still,
The active mind,
Not until the tree,
Exhausts,
Winter's ardent wind,
Will my thoughts,
Rest,
In perfect slumber.
