 Marissa
Marissa
Marissa stares at the image
In her bedroom mirror
She smiles at the beautiful girl
Who's staring back at her
She's feeling very lucky
She feels that she's been blessed
She wonders why it happened
To her she's unimpressed
The guys they seem to worship her
She tries to shake it off
She hates all of the attention
Her friends they brush her off
She doesn't seem to mind it
Although it sometimes hurts
She's hoping that one day soon
She won't feel like she's cursed
Marissa loves her family
To her they're number one
The time with them is priceless
Together they have fun
She treasures every moment
She knows it will not last
This beautiful teenager
Her future is her past
She understands the fate in store
That soon she will be gone
It's creeping up ever slowly
She knows it won't be long
Her friends they do not know it
Her family has no clue
She tries to never show it
But if they only knew
Her body's slowly quitting
The end is getting near
She looks inside the mirror
She slowly sheds a tear
Her life has been a blessing
Filled with so much love
She closes her eyes one last time
To join her God above
The memories of her living
Were shared among them all
Remembering how forgiving
She was to one and all
