Queen Of The Pearly Gate©She's the queen of the pearly gate and she rules this golden kingdom. A smile is her umbrella and a rainbow is her throne. The other angels flock around her and fight to win the pleasure to have her company for their own. She's there in all her splendor, wearing silver sandals on her feet: skipping up and down those golden steps. Time was she couldn't walk without help to get there. But there she was my mother going up and down those steps like she was on air. There was a band of angels chanting: hail to the queen, as she was escorted to her throne. From where she can rein down her love on me: a love that's mine and mine alone! Copyright ©2006~S@L~ Vote for this poem |
