ForgivenessThere are times we laugh, There are times we cry; At times walking a path, As we are wondering why. Maybe feeling confused, Letting out a gentle sigh; As if we have been abused, Or when another tells a lie. You wonder how it can be, When they just flatly deny; Having disregard to honesty, And with no desire to rectify. But let us forgive and forget, Making amends for to pacify; Just as Christ eases our debt, Through the cross to signify. We are to love one another, Though not seeing eye-to-eye; Treating them as a brother, Unity in God via the crucify. Richard Newton Sherrer Copyright ©2006 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
