…It Was Only A Tumour…But It Gave Me Such Humour!!! I went into hospital cos I had a problem going on, They said I had a brain tumour, now that wasn't fun! I wanted to see myself, cos I was as curious as can be! But they nurses said; ‘No! You are not allowed to see!! But in the bathroom one day, now remembering this too… I was drugged up with morphine, didn't know what to do! So I climbed on a chair, and oh what a fright! I didn't know who I was, and I cried all night! The nurse asked me what was up, I didn't know what to do! So I said; ‘I looked in the mirror! And you would cry too!' So she gave me a rollicking, and said that's not allowed… And she sent me back to bed! And I went, with head bowed! Next morning in bed, the sun shone bright… But I was a mess, hadn't had a very good night… Well, you see, it's like this, I was fast asleep in bed… But I rolled over and fell out, and banged my ruddy head! So there they were, wiping my swollen black eyes again! Oh woe is me, what a mess; I was in such terrible pain! But the nurse that tended me, all night long by my bed, Was a bloody male nurse, a hunk, it has to be said! Well I tried to bat my eyes, but they wouldn't budge! Then I poked one out, as I tried to give it a nudge! So there I was with a gorgeous hunk, sitting at my bed! I couldn't look into his eyes, cos mine were swollen and red! But he did wink at me, and gave me a little smile, And he said to me; ‘Cath, I'm here for a while!' Well oh bloody hell, what a mess I was in! I was all embarrassed, and it was all down to him! But he never moved, he stayed at my side all that night! And told me I was beautiful, oh blimey, he's not right! So then I got to thinking, was it me had the tumour? Or was it him? Cos he's nuts! Well I did hear a rumour! Just take the negative from the positive, And throw that negative away! And we live and fight - another new day! As only you can do!
