…Jack…

And he grins as he does,
Jack, this impish little boy!
Who from the day he was born,
Has given us lots of joy!

Ginger hair, but oh, so red,
And a cheeky grin for all to see!
Tongue in cheek, I give a little peep,
As he peeps right back at me!

He loves his spelling tests!
And every day he can't wait to go to school,
Wants to be the best there is,
But that little imp always breaks the rule!

Because the teacher gives him instructions,
But Jack adheres to them?  No way!
All he wants is to do his work,
And when it's over, go out to play!

But you can't do that in school,
Yet he thinks he's got it made!
By giving the teacher an impish grin,
But nope, that doesn't make the grade!

Because no matter how or where he is,
He's always the party clown!
Acting daft, giving a laugh,
The best little boy, hands down!

His adding up and subtraction;
Is as good as great can be!
For the teachers tell us all the time,
Tis a very intelligent lad is he!

And yes, and I say this non biased,
That lad's got brains second to none!
And for every trial he undertakes,
Our Jack has already won!!!

His freckles are, oh so cute!
His eyes are as deep as the sea!
His loving heart is all that and more,
He's the best little lad for me!!

My Grandson; Jack
