The Lightening Rips…

The, lightening rips, the thunder rolls
Fear takes over, panic takes hold!
People laugh and joke about your plight,
But the fear is real and bravery takes flight!
You sit in the corner scared out of your wits,
Then the thunder bursts and panic hits!
Trapped inside, got nowhere to go!
Can't go outside – you don't want to know!

The blinds are drawn; you're in the dark alone,
You need someone there, but won't pick up the phone!
The lightening claps as loud as loud could be!
Fear in abundance, fear is all that you see!
The storm gets nearer, and much louder too!
You're in a sweat; you don't know what to do!
You want to be free of this panic inside!
But you just can't do it, over and again you've tried!

All of your life since a kid you've been this way…
The result of a horrific happening one day!
Set off for school; meet your friend's part way there!
Sauntering along in a gang, without a worry or care!
You get near to the church - there on the street,
Then the thunder clapped and you're on your feet!
Running blindly, panicking, don't know what to do!
The lads all laugh at the fear omitting from you!

They run for a tree and shout to get under!
But the fear is great can't stand the thunder!
Doesn't lightening hit you while under a tree?
They ran towards it, causing more fear in me!!
You scream at them to tell them to not go near!
But they all laugh at your pathetic fear!
Then the thunder clapped, you're stood in the rain!
The lightening hit, the thunder rolled again!

Suddenly it happens; the tree is hit by lightening,
Fear freezes you to the spot, it's pretty frightening!
There's a boy up a tree, laughing, and having fun!
Wouldn't listen to the warnings…oh what had he done!
He then flops forward and falls from the tree!
The lightening had hit him, as harsh as could be!
His laughter stopped – he was silent and grey!
The screams of panic live within you every day!

You never forget an experience like that on that day!
For it will hound you each time a storm comes your way!
So for those who laugh at this sad woman's plight!
They should take stock and understand her fright!
There is a reason for her reaction over what did occur,
Nothing is right, just pure unadulterated fear!
So hark these words of hers - so scary and true…
Mock her not, unless it's happened to you!

The thunder belted out! There was death from lightening!
Don't stand under a tree!!  It's pretty frightening!
As the thunder rolls and the lightening hits…
You can't control the fear and the panic that hits!
So she; feared of a storm is fun for all around…
They laugh at you as you're rooted to the ground!
The fear was bad then – but since that saddened day,
It will never, ever leave her, forever it will stay!

Don't mock the person who's riddled in fear so great!
For this fear is the result of a terrible fate!
