HOPE IS AN ANCHOR
When you call me anymore
I won't answer and I'll store
Your voice because I'm busy too
Without the time to work on you
Obsessed with you I will not be
Take off these things and show I'm free
There's other men to think about
When you leave me here down and out
Who say they love me, for me to live
Even though our love we do not give
The best he can he gives to me
His friend, his living fantasy
Even though he's away
I know he thinks of me everyday
When he goes to water, that's my sign
He remembers how I can be divine
For him, I don't have to cry
To him, I'm not a lie
He comes back, when he has parted
Talks to me, he is kind hearted
Smart enough to know I'm crazy good
Need to live for a man or I could
Quit my life with him away
So he gives me hope each day
By saying live for this man
He's intelligent and understands
To keep me here, he said three times
I love you, poet girl, with all your rhymes.
