Memories Never Change

When you were just a little girl
Your cheeks flushed pink in sleep
I told you I`d remember
And in my heart I`d keep

This picture of you with me
And now as I grow old
These memories stay with me
More precious now than gold

And others have been added
Gathered down the years
Memories of laughter
And sometimes pearly tears.

I`m proud of all the things you are
The things you`ve done and seen
Yet when I close my eyes and think
I see you in a dream

You are my little girl again
Just like you`ll always be
And all the years are gossamer
A veil through time and me

I see again that trusting smile
I feel your hand in mine
As we walk together
Down the path of time

Happy birthday baby
May all your dreams come true
All the memories I have saved
I`m sending on to you
