In My Daughters Eyes

Photobucket

It was on a Tuesday at 5:59 p.m. you entered into this world,
You were a beautiful 7lb 12oz blue eyed girl.
I knew that I would love you for the rest of my life,
At that moment I said thank you to God and my wife.
You are half of your mother, and half of me,
I will be the best father that I can be.
In my daughter's eyes, I see an ocean of love
                         That has no end,
I will be your father, protector and friend.
In my daughter's eyes, I see a love that is pure,
It erases all the sadness that I have had to endure.
I will be there when you learn how to walk,
I will smile with pride, when you began to talk.
In my daughter's eyes, I see that I will be a better man,
I will teach you love, trust, and to understand.
That in my daughter's eyes, I see sunny days and a blue sky,
I will be there to comfort you when you cry.
Your happiness is my greatest concern,
I as your father will have a lot to learn.
I ask God to guide me day by day,
I will make mistakes as I learn my way.
All your days will not be sunny; some days will bring rain,
There will come a time, when I cannot ease your pain.
I will teach you that life is unsure and one day this
                               You will understand,
I will ask God to guide you and forever hold your hand.
In my daughter's eyes I see hope for tomorrow,
I pray that you will not have to endure much pain and sorrow.
You are the most beautiful gift that I ever possessed,
And on this day we have truly been blessed.
Today I look up toward heavens, and see the lovely blue skies,
Thank you God for allowing me to look into my
