Heart Of The Matter
A Flickering Flame
A flickering flame,
Unsteady,
Moving quickly,
Side to side,
Betrays a silent,
Gentle breeze,
Which has no,
Place to hide,
And though the flame,
Is buffeted,
Yet strong,
It will remain,
Until it meets,
The hurricane,
And torrid,
Driving rain,
Its light is then,
Diminished,
Gone, forgotten,
To our eyes,
And for a time,
Lays sleeping,
Bereft,
Of lullaby's,
Till someone special,
Passes by,
Then life is not,
The same,
A tiny spark,
Ignites,
The sad and lonely,
Flickering flame.
Unsteady,
Moving quickly,
Side to side,
Betrays a silent,
Gentle breeze,
Which has no,
Place to hide,
And though the flame,
Is buffeted,
Yet strong,
It will remain,
Until it meets,
The hurricane,
And torrid,
Driving rain,
Its light is then,
Diminished,
Gone, forgotten,
To our eyes,
And for a time,
Lays sleeping,
Bereft,
Of lullaby's,
Till someone special,
Passes by,
Then life is not,
The same,
A tiny spark,
Ignites,
The sad and lonely,
Flickering flame.
