Heart Of The Matter

A Stranger Said Hello, And Smiled

A stranger said hello and smiled,
It took me by surprise,
He had a look within his eyes,
I somehow recognised.

I knew I didn't know him,
And yet I knew him well,
Would I meet this man again,
Well only time would tell.

A stranger in a crowded street,
Reached out and held my hand,
An infinite connection,
I couldn't understand.

We shared this space together,
For moments maybe hours,
And then we went our separate ways,
But the magic remained ours.

A stranger said hello and smiled,
I knew the stranger well,
But if you asked me for his name,
I really couldn't tell.
