Heart Of The Matter

Child Poem

I'm leaving home,
I've had enough,
I'm packing up my case,
I don't love you,
You just don't care,
You won't see me again.
I'm taking all my toys with me,
My crayons and my pens,
I'll take my bestest trainers,
My Barbie and my Ken,

(I'll put them in my carry bag,
Yes, I can manage them.)

I'm ready now, I'm leaving,
I'm waving you bye bye,
Bet you'll be sorry, when I'm gone,
I bet you'll even cry,

(And then you'll know just how I feel,
You'll know I didn't lie.)

You say I have to leave it all,
My clothes, my toys, Oh no!,
You say, I came with nothing,
And I'll have nothing, when I go,
Well maybe,
I'll just stay a while,
You'll find me in my room,
Now is it time for supper?
Cos' I am leaving soon.
