PROTOTYPE

Do I have to be held back
Because other women in your life
Hurt you
Because I hurt you
Over and over
With the vile words
Of insecurity that flow
From me when I am
Afraid.
Am I only a prototype of a girlfriend?
Do you have to sit there while I continue
To write you, call you, text you,
And turn it off?
Because I was only a prototype of a girlfriend?
Do I have to keep writing over and over
Again that I love to go down for
You, friend?
You don't need to help that part of your
Prototype---you told me
"All right".
I don't want to be a prototype, and
If I am, you help me correct
What's wrong, then try me out again.
Because you're going to get this prototype right
Or I'm going to end.
