 Mysteries of a Man Unravelled

Forgiven's Unforgotten

We walk around oblivious
To our own cruel intentions
In spite of our own memories
Screaming to us
As we look upon loving eyes unknowingly
Two way mirrors:
We can't see in but they watch us
And laugh or cry with great intensity
At us making fools of ourselves
And ask themselves rhetorically
WHY, WHY SHOULD I?
They see deep in our minds
By the signs we so ignorantly
Let on as if nothing has occurred
A voice sounds as if nothing is wrong
Echoing in the same sweet tone we hear on Valentines Day
But we know this innocence as merely facade, a toying notion
And she behind it, whomever it be
Peers down on us awaiting our calling as we sink
To the depths of swallowed pride, of stupidity and pity
Glaring into that blinding light, that facade,
That apparent innocence
Hope-filled and awaiting sentencing,
That unimaginable response
Then it comes and what's all said is done
We remain human, neglecting her love
Cause she swallowed the lies
Absorbing them into her conscience
All seems okay and we're forgiven for the last time
The same last time that's lasted for a long time
But we know that accompanying forgiveness
Is not forgetfulness
And that the day will come
The day when our pride, along with our joy will walk away
